Philadelphia's pioneering mobile crisis intervention unit, reaching 2,500-5,000 people annually through our innovative "community center on wheels." Founded by Michael "OG Law" Ta'Bon, we bring life-changing education directly to neighborhoods most affected by violence.
From incarceration to transformation: Michael "OG Law" Ta'Bon's journey of healing communities
Michael "OG Law" Ta'Bon founded the National Love Team in 2017 after his own transformation from formerly incarcerated individual to community leader. Born in Philadelphia to blind parents, Ta'Bon served 7.5 years in state prison before being paroled in 2005.
In 2010, he created the Rest in Peace Memorial Wall at 1924 W Hunting Park Avenue, painting 406 names of Philadelphians murdered in 2006. This memorial became the catalyst for his "Fight Hate With Love" initiative, which evolved into the National Love Team.
Today, our innovative mobile crisis intervention unit—a custom-built "community center on wheels"—brings education directly to neighborhoods most affected by violence, reaching 2,500-5,000 people annually.
